Sometimes the pain in left side of the chest could arouse due to the problems in stomach or gall bladder. Angina, heart attack, heart burns due to acidity or gas could be the common problems that could trigger chest pain. The medical condition of Angina is caused due to a plaque formation in arteries that causes obstruction in the normal blood flow. This results in failure of the heart muscles to get the oxygenated blood. People, suffering from the coronary heart disease have a great chance of suffering from Angina.
One suffers from a heart attack when the arteries leading to the heart are covered by plaque or get ruptured. This causes formation of blood clots that cause blockade in blood flow. Due to the reduced amount of oxygenated blood, the heart muscle starts to collapse, and, in the worst case, if the blockage continues to remain so for the next 15 days, then the tissues near the heart muscles start to die as well. This effect triggers a severe chest pain on your left shoulder and at the back of your neck. Other symptoms of such a kind of heart attack include nausea, breathing problems, sweating and dizziness.
